Delight and Progress Awurum entered the world in the midst of adversity, born to a single mother, Amaka Awurum, in June 2023. Tragically, their father passed away shortly after their birth, leaving Amaka to care for them and their six siblings on her own. With limited resources and support, the Awurum family faced numerous hardships, including food insecurity and inadequate shelter.

Our field team at Grace To Share Foundation Inc first encountered the Awurum family during one of our community outreach initiatives. Witnessing their dire living conditions—a mud house with a missing roof—we knew immediate action was needed to provide them with a safe and dignified living environment.

With the generous support of our donors, we embarked on a mission to build a modest house for the Awurum family. Despite challenges such as rising construction costs due to inflation, our commitment to seeing the project through remained unwavering. Through the collective efforts of our team and the generosity of our supporters, we worked tirelessly to ensure that Delight, Progress, and their family would have a place to call home.

Fast forward to Easter 2024, and the dreams of Delight and Progress are about to become a reality. Thanks to the compassion and goodwill of our donors, the Awurum family is preparing to move into their new home—a symbol of hope and a fresh start for their future.
